Voluntary agreements on energy efficiency for appliances

The objective of the project is to collect evidence on the effectiveness and efficiency of voluntary agreements aimed at improving the energy efficiency of appliances and equipment around the globe.

Work included:

1) Inventory of type of VA in place in this field;

2) Mapping of VA that are of have been in place according to type, products covered and geographical scope;

3) In dept analysis of 4 selected case studies;

4) Review of literature to search for sound evidence on effectiveness of VA;

5) Recommendations for policy makers under which circumstances VA could be considered and listing some key ingredients for successful VAs (amongst other by developing a decision model).
