This project conducted by SQ Consult and UBA focuses on supporting the European Commission in the update of the EU ETS Monitoring and Reporting Regulation (MRR) and the Accreditation and Verification Regulation (AVR). Work includes:
- Inventory of relevant issues that may lead to update of the regulations and assessment of opportunities for further simplifications (literature review, survey, interviews, desk research);
- Design of an issue tracking database;
- Developing a proposal for amendments and discussing this with various stakeholders;
- Formulating amendments, improvements and simplifications;
- Support to the Commission’s consultations
- Updating the MRR and AVR;
- Presentations to Technical Working Groups, Competent Authorities, the Climate Change Committee and the Working Group 3;
- Reporting.
