Multi-country technical assistance towards implementation of the new Paris Climate Agreement in the western Balkans and Turkey. EU project that aims to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, and to assist in developing a resource-efficient, low-emissions and climate-resilient economy.
The project has three components: 1) the identification of climate policies and strategies to support implementation of IPA beneficiaries’ commitments under the Paris climate agreement; 2) the provision of assistance in preparing plans for capacity building on national GHG inventories; and 3) the strengthening of monitoring, reporting, verification and accreditation procedures for the EU Emissions Trading System.
The geographical scope of the project is Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey.
