SQ Consult Sergio Ugarte supported all programming activities for the 11th EDF territorial allocation: “Renewable Energy Infrastructure and Intelligent Grids for the Island of Saba”. Services were rendered through a subcontract with SOFRECO.

The focus was renewable energy (PV, geothermal and wind), smart grids and energy storage. A feasibility study was done for the deployment of renewable energy and energy storage on the island, and for the elaboration of an energy policy and strategy for the government of Saba. Other activities included:
• Capacity building and strategy development for the deployment renewable energy policies for the island.
• Assess the feasibility of the overall program and guidance wherever non-feasible elements exist.
• Assessment and determine possible advantages of the execution of this program.
• Timely preparation and submission of programming document namely the Draft Identification Fiche and Action Document.
